let’s connect and explore how I can support your journey!
My name is Shaheen Hagar. I was born in Germany in 1985 to a white German mother and a Black American father. As one of five siblings and over 25 first cousins, and now an aunt to nine nieces and nephews, I’ve been deeply shaped by the richness of family connections. Ordained by my grandmothers, Ruby Nell Edwards and Erna Wacker—two women known for their fierce spirits and disarming candor—I embody my ancestors’ wildest dreams.
While the majority of my family stays in the United States, I repatriated from Germany to Gambia, in 2023, reconnecting with another branch of my family. This change marked a personal and professional rebirth.
I am passionate about fostering (self-)leadership that strengthens authentic relationships and drives meaningful transformation for individuals and organizations.
As a Certified Business Coach and Consultant, with expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as media and communications, I aim to empower professionals to create more inclusive, equitable environments.
I primarily work with early- and mid-career professionals—those navigating the complexities of the professional world as young people, women, or members of marginalized groups. I understand how challenging it can be to thrive in environments that often overlook or undervalue unique perspectives.
By addressing the impact of early (childhood) experiences and societal challenges, I help my clients transform their personal growth into professional excellence.
The 21st century calls for resilient, diverse, and innovative organizations capable of tackling global challenges. To lead effectively in this era, today’s leaders must commit to genuine inner development—for themselves and their teams.
True leaders foster cultures of deep engagement, where individuals find fulfillment in contributing meaningfully rather than simply seeking personal gain.
If you’re ready to unlock your full potential as a leader and cultivate a transformative impact, I’d love to support your journey. Let’s explore how we can work together.
“Shaheen has a unique ability to both connect with people and connect people. Her openness to other ways of thinking, doing and being, coupled with patient listening and meaningful supportive commentary, as well as willingness to help, makes her a valuable person to have on any project desiring to bring people together and share knowledge and resources across spaces, languages and cultures.”
